Lot 462

1798 S-158 R4 Small 8, Style I Hair F15. Sharpness EF40 but covered with fine roughness, strongest in the field before the portrait. There are traces of raised verdigris in the field under the hair ribbon and at TES-O at the top of the reverse, but they are not distracting. Frosty medium to dark chocolate brown and steel. MDS, Breen state IV. The three vertical die cracks in the field behind the portrait are faint but visible and the die cracks on the reverse are clear. A sharp cent that offers nice eye appeal in spite of the imperfections. Estimated Value $200-UP

Unsold
