Antique, Turn of the Century Ansonia Mantle Clock, Brooklyn, New York. Very handsome "Seine" mantle clock from the Ansonia Clock Company, an enormously popular and successful American clock company from the mid-1800s peaking in sale to just prior to WWI. At that point, competition grew fierce and low market pricing ultimately set it on a course of ruin. The Seine Ansonia Mantel Clock with mahogany-grained steel case with roccoco mounts, open escapement, gilt metal dial with pendulum and two winding keys. Height 18.25" Clock needs regulating but a fine piece of Americana. Estimated Value $400 - 600
