Hutschenreuther Porcelain Hand Painted Plaque 1896. Hutchenreuther porcelain company was founded in 1814 by Carolus Magnus Hutschenreuther (1794-1845) in Hohenberg an der Eger, Bavaria, German and then continued with his wife and son, Lorenz. He moved the company to Selb and continued his father's tradition of producing beautiful porcelain. Hutschenreuther marks and sizes had three digit number impressed that denoted specific sizes. This piece is marked 808 on verso which aligns with their 9 x 7" size. Here a beautifully signed and dated piece, "EPS '96", a traditional Pre-Raphaelite maiden, delicately rendered veil suggests a bridal theme, with attending putti bearing a bouquet of flowers and gifts. 19th Century porcelain plaques can command thousands of dollars and remain highly prized by collectors worldwide. In excellent condition, without frame. Estimated Value $400 - 600
