Dalí, Salvador. Le Beastiaire de la Fontaine "The Sick Deer". (1904-1989) The most celebrated and prominent surrealist painter of the 20th century, who also created works in sculpture, film and photography. Dalí also prove one of the most colorful and eccentric personalities in the field of art which only served to elevate his position in mainstream culture. Offered here is an original engraving Le Beastiaire de la Fontaine, on Arches, signed in pencil and numbered 13/250 a suite of 12 original engravings with color added by pochoir (Rigal) published in 1974 by Les Maitres Contemporaines in Paris. Based on a collection of fables, this piece is referred to as "The Sick Deer". 22½ x 19½" and beautifully framed in gilt wood to 46 x 36" with small metal engraving identifying work by Salvador Dalí.
