Jack Dempsey Collection: Pair of Signed Boxing Gloves and Pair of Training Shoes. William Harrison "Jack" Dempsey, "Kid Blackie" (1895 - 1983) proved one of the greatest boxers in history and became a sports culture icon in the 1920s having held the World Heavyweight Championship from 1919 to 1926. After retirement he helped managed a huge casino in Baja, famously opened a popular restaurant in NYC, authored books, and during WWII joined the Coast Guard Reserve. One of the most beloved boxing legends in American history. Offered are a pair of Sol Levinson training gloves each signed just inside by Jack Dempsey. From All Star auctions, a pair of very worn, ca. 1920s training shoes attributed to Dempsey. Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500
