Brooklyn Dodgers Ralph Branca and Team Collection of Signed Photos. The Shot Heard Round The World is an epithet used to describe a game-winning home run by New York Giants, Bobby Thomson, off Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher Ralph Branca at the Polo Grounds in New York City on October 3, 1951, to win the National League pennant. Significant in the name because the game was the first ever televised nationally, and heard by thousands of American servicemen in Korea. Offered is a signed, color 8 x 10" photo by Branca, a signed sepia toned 10 x 8" by Bobby Thomson just after the home run (slightly smeared during signing), a signed sepia toned staged photo of Branca strangling Thomson, a signed team photo that includes Branca, Nelson, Pafko, Black, Erskine, King, Williams and Labine in excellent condition PSA/DNA graded And finally a vintage original sepia toned 10 x 8" photo stamped on verso "NY Post, Barney Stein" which is a fantastic, undated shot of the team inside clubhouse training camp, crowded around the table for a dinner where among other players, Ralph Branca and Carl Furillo are clearly visible. Estimated Value $300 - 500
