Lot 329

1828 N-11 R2 PCGS graded MS63 Brown, CAC Approved. Lustrous bluish steel and light olive brown. A very attractive cent that is covered with satiny mint frost. The only marks are a tiny nick on the jawline, a couple more on the truncation over the 8, and a spot of slightly darker toning on the first S in STATES. E-MDS. There are microscopic radial die flowlines in the fields near the dentils but the misplaced first S in STATES (left of the first S in STATES) and the misplaced O in OF (left of the normal O) are clear. A nice example of this interesting die variety. Our grade is MS60. Estimated Value $800-UP

Ex Jim McGuigan-Dr. Wallace Lee, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Superior 5/25/2003:737-R. J. Rudolph Collection (lot ticket included).
