Lot 831

1850 N-17 R4 AU50. Sharpness mint state but lightly cleaned and retoned olive and steel brown with very faded red in protected areas. Nice luster and only a few contact marks, including a thin nick right of the main curl and a dull pinprick in the field off the end of the nose. Sharply struck EDS, die state a. The fields on the obverse are slightly reflective and all the fine die lines are clear. Might benefit from a proper retoning. Tied for CC#8 in the Grellman census. Comes with a nice provenance.
Estimated Value $300-UP.
