1848 N-9 R1 PCGS graded MS65+ Brown. Highly lustrous light olive and chocolate with overtones of light bluish steel. Mint red covers about 5% of both sides and this cent offers outstanding eye appeal. No spots or stains only a few trivial marks. The notable ones are a thin nick close before the nose that follows the profile and a very light scratch close under the outer hair bun. Neither mark is visible without the aid of a glass. Sharply struck EDS, die state a. The die lines at the bottom of the 8 are clear and the reverse is uncracked. Our grade is MS63, tied for CC#8 in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 1 finer in 66.
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.
