1797 S-133 R5 Stemless Wreath NGC graded VG8. Medium chocolate brown and steel on the devices with darker olive brown and steel toning covering the fields and protected areas. The planchet is decent but not perfectly smooth. No verdigris. The notable marks are a dull diagonal nick in the field under the hair ribbon and two small chips in the planchet at the top of the N in CENT. The details are sharper on the obverse than on the reverse but the date is strong and the legends are all readable. MDS, Breen state III. The crumbling in the dentils over IC in AMERICA involves 5 dentils. Our grade is net VG7+. The attribution is noted on the NGC label.
