Lot 469

1794 S-53 R6 Fair-2+. Very slightly sharper, especially on the obverse, but there are a dozen small contact marks scattered over the obverse. Most of these marks are on the portrait and near the Y in LIBERTY. No corrosion or verdigris. Mostly glossy medium chocolate brown with darker olive brown toning in protected areas. The bottom edge of the date is starting to fade away but it is easily readable, and half of the legend on the reverse is visible. A rare variety that is difficult to find in any grade.
Estimated Value $500-UP.
