1847-O. NGC graded AU-58. Lightly toned and scarce this close to mint state, with most of the known survivors falling well short of the technical quality here. It is important to note that the 1847-O is known as the worst struck New Orleans issue, and this one is actually sharper than many seen despite apparent softness in the legends and eagle. The surfaces are pleasing and clean, and numerous thin die cracks exist on the reverse. Pop 45; 34 finer at NGC. (PCGS # 7747) .
