Lot 1861

1969, $5 Federal Reserve Note. PCGS Superb Gem New 68PPQ. Fr-1969-F. This Atlanta district $5 is the single finest known example, as neither PCGS nor PMG has graded a single example in 68PPQ/EPQ besides this beautiful Superb Gem example. It has all of the atrtibutes one would expect for the assigned grade: ideal centering, broad margins, and outstanding originality. Estimating a note like this is no more than a guess, as Set Registry competitors will sometimes drive bidding on a note like this to much higher levels than might be expected. Any reasonable expectation, however, would be for this "top pop" note to reach a minimum of our likely conservative estimate.
Estimated Value $200 - 300.

Realized $118
