1930s Tennis Greats. Signatures. In this lot of three signed Time Magazines, we present signatures from the three men who dominated tennis in the 1930s. Jack Crawford, Frederick John Perry and Donald Budge have all signed the covers of complete Time Magazines. Budge has inscribed in black ink, "To Arn Ghigliazza / With best wishes." The Crawford cover has been professionally reconstructed, but there is still some wear at the edges, there is some wear at the far right and bottom edges of the Perry cover and almost no wear on the Budge cover. Conditions range from good to fine.
Between these three athletes, they were collectively the number one ranked players from 1933-1938 and won Wimbledon six times. The articles in these Time magazines were written as U.S. Singles championship previews and the favorite was pictured, Crawford (1933), Perry (1934) and Budge (1935).
