Vines, Ellsworth, Jr (1911-1994) Tennis great of the 1930s, notorious for his powerful serve. Vines' serve was crucial in his winning two consecutive U.S. Championships and one at Wimbledon.

Signature ("Ellsworth Vines"). Signed in black ink. Accompanied by an Autograph Letter. There is very light wear at the edges, otherwise this piece is in fine condition.

The feature sports article in this complete August 1, 1932, issue of Time details various Davis Cup hopes, with a focus on Ellsworth Vines due to his great promise and the Wimbledon victory he had secured one month before.
