Robinson, Jackie (1919-1972) First black baseball player in the major leagues, an infielder and outfielder for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1947 through 1956. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962.

Signature ("Jackie Robinson"). Signed Time Magazine, complete issue. Measuring 8½ x 11". In pencil. There is wear at the top of the cover and at the edges. A few light creases at the corners. Condition is good.

Commemorating Jackie Robinson's first year with the Dodgers, the writer of this September 22, 1947, article does not shy away from detailing the hardships Robinson faced in the Major Leagues and the struggles he had with his own teammates.
