Wayne, John (1907-1990) Born Marion Michael Morrison, John Wayne came to embody a type of American hero through his roles in classic Westerns and War movies like The Sands of Iwo Jima (1949), Stagecoach (1939) and True Grit (1969, he won the Academy Award). A skinny kid from Iowa became "The Duke," an American icon.
Signature ("John Wayne"). Time Magazine cover. Inscribed "Good Luck" in black ink. The cover has been matted for an overall size of 11 x 14" and the original mailing label remains on the front, but otherwise this piece is in very good condition.
