European Artists. Signatures. This lot features six signatures from five famous artists whose beautiful works of art touch a chord even today. 1. Lawrence, Thomas (1769-1830) ("Thos Lawrence"). 3½ x 1½", n.p., n.d. In faded black ink. Signature removed from letter follows closing "Your most faithful svt" and is matted with a reproduction of "Pinky." There is some wear and a faint horizontal crease and the overall condition is good to very good. 2. Millais, John Everett (1829-1896) ("John Everett Millais"). 3½ x 1½", n.p., n.d. In black ink. Signature on calling card which has been matted with a color reproduction of Millais' "Ophelia." Overall condition is very good. 3. Millais, John Everett (1829-1896) ("J E Millais"). 3½ x 1½", n.p., n.d. In black ink. Signature removed from letter, closing "In haste yrs sinc." Matted with a color reproduction of "The Blind Girl," includes a small oval portrait, there is some browning and a vertical fold and the overall condition is good to very good. 4. Tissot, James (1836-1902) ("James Tissot"). 3 x 1", n.p., n.d. In black ink. Signature removed from typed letter and matted with a color print of Tissot's "A Fete Day at Brighton." There is some age toning, but the overall condition is very good. 5. Laurencin, Marie (1885-1956) ("Marie Laurencin"). 3 x 1", n.p., n.d. In black ink. Signature removed from letter, including closing "Votre." Matted with a color reproduction of "Paulette," there is a small stain over "nc" in the signature. Overall condition is good to very good. 6. De Vlaminck, Maurice(1876-1958) ("Vlaminck") 3 x 2," no place, no date. In blue ink. Signature on the back of a postcard. Matted signature signed out with color reproduction. There is a small stain to the left of the signature. Condition is very good.
