American Artists. Signatures. A lot of four, featuring signatures from four of America's greatest artists of the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. 1. Johnson, Eastman (1824-1906) ("Eastman Johnson"). 3½ x 1½"r, n.p., n.d. In faded black ink. Signature appears with closing "Very Truly Yrs" and has been matted with a color reproduction of Eastman's "Self Portrait with Bottle of Champagne." Very good condition. 2. Hassam, Childe (1859-1935) ("Childe Hassam"). 1¼ x 2½", n.p., n.d. In black ink. Signature has been matted with a reproduction of Hassam's "Quiet Morning." Very Good condition. 3. Christy, Howard Chandler (1873-1952) ("Howard Chandler Christy"). 3½ x 1¼," n.p., n.d. In black ink. "Very truly yours" appears above signature, which has been matted with a copy of a Christy illustration. Some mounting residue is visible on the verso, but otherwise the piece is in very good condition. 4. Flagg, James Montgomery (1877-1960) ("J Montgomery Flagg"). One page, quarto, n.p., September 24, 1919. In black ink. Letter to Mr. Taggart is matted behind a copy of Flagg's "I Want You" and signature and letter closing "Yours trul" are presented below print in a 5½ x 2½" square. There is some age toning and a faint vertical crease, otherwise the piece is in very good condition.
