Gross, Chaim (1904-1991). Austrian-American sculptor whose fanciful works, in a variety of media, show rhythmic movement and balance.

Original Drawing Signed ("Chaim Gross"). 3 x 5", 1941, n.p. Pen and ink wash. Being a card, printed "Autograph of / Property of R. Van Haecke - Editor-Top Topics News Service." Very minor smudging, small amount of adhesive residue on verso, overall condition is fine.

This charming drawing and Gross' bold signature make for a unique collector's piece. The symbol below "Chaim" is the artist's monogram "CH G," featuring an inverted "G". Gross referred to the symbol as "the Dog" and it appears on all finished drawings and sculptures.
Estimated Value $250 - 350.
