Conjoined busts of two maidens left, palette with paints and brushed below / Five-line French legend, signed Ô. Ð?Ç????? at right. Very rare. Toned.Choice extremely fine (800)Russian-Jewish sculptor and medallist, Félix Rasumny was born in Sebastopol in 1870, but settled in France at an early age. He entered the Ecole des Arts décoratifs in Paris to study drawing and sculpting; then learned medal- engraving with Paulin Tasset. By the end of the 1800’s, he was a prodigious and important engraver of artistic, religious and prize medals.
