Reverse Painted Lamp by Jefferson Company, Early 20th Century. Art glass and painted metal lamp base from The Jefferson Company. The Jefferson Lamp Co. was active for 33 years after its launch in 1900 in Steubenville, Ohio. Seven years later the company moved to Follansbee, Va., where they produced their reverse painted lamps. Offered here is a signature, hand painted shade depicting a landscape with trees, water, grasses and just a hint of a sunset in earth tones and blues on circular angled shade. Glass shade is signed inside Jefferson Co. with the initials M. B. likely by the artist. Shade in excellent condition and has a textured, almost linen finish to the actual glass. Shade is 9" x 18" and sits on a painted lamp base 26" x 8", gold with blue accents. Some age wear along base but adds to the overall truly vintage appeal of the piece. Buyer responsible for third party shipping.
Estimated Value $900 - 1,200.
