Collection of Revolutionary War Cannonballs, Hudson Highlands 11 and 16 Pounders. Two cannonballs from The Revolutionary War, unearthed in the Hudson Highlands area East of the Hudson River. This mountainous area was strategically important for the Continental Army to hold and prevent the British Army from cutting New England off from the rest of the colonies and the area the site of numerous small battles and skirmishes. Alexander White's passion for history is represented in his collection of Revolutionary War ephemera. Offered here are two massive cannonballs. The largest is over 5" in diameter and weighing 16¾ pounds. The other just over 4" in diameter and weigh 11¼ pounds, both in excellent condition with the location of their find neatly lettered on each. Note: combined shipping weight is over 28 pounds, a consideration if shipping overseas.
Estimated Value $350 - 650.
Estate of Alexander White III.
