Great Britain. Set of 5 Medals for the Coronation of King George V and Queen Mary 1911. BMH-4055. By A. Toft of the Mint Birmingham. Mint state. Range from 24mm diam to 52mm. in gold embossed, fitted Royal Mint style case. 2pcs in silvered bronze, 3pcs bronze. Obverse, conjoined heads of monarchs, reverse, crown, barge and royal trumpeters. Extremely rare to find a complete set of pieces - see Goldberg auction no 36, May 28-31 2006 lot #2469 for single medal (this the only one usually encountered) which fetched $132. Probably this set was made for experimental purposes. Uncirculated.
