Lot 269

1824 N-2 R2 PCGS graded AU58. Very attractive lustrous light bluish steel brown. Satiny mint frost covers all but the highpoints and the eye appeal of this cent is outstanding. Just a hint of friction on the highest points from mint state. The only marks, and they are trivial, are a pair of tiny ticks on the nose and a small streak of lighter golden tan toning at ME in AMERICA. MDS showing very fine radial die flowlines in the fields. The reverse is rotated 25 degrees CCW. Our grade is AU55. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.
Ex McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Superior 6/3/2002:2471-Colonel Steven Ellsworth-Michael Atkins-John Koebert.
