Lot 237

1816 N-2 R1 PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Highly lustrous light bluish steel brown and olive with ample traces of original mint red showing on both sides. This is a beautiful cent that offers outstanding eye appeal. No spots or stains, only a few light contact marks of no significance. A thin diagonal nick left of the O in OF is a good identifying mark. E-MDS with a rim cud break from star 8 to star 11 and the reverse rotated 15 degrees CW. The repunching on the 1 is clear. Our grade is MS63. Most likely from the famous Randall Hoard of mint state cents that came to light shortly after the US Civil War.
Estimated Value $800-UP.

Realized $1,469
