Julius Caesar. Silver Denarius (3.98 g), 44 BC. Lfetime issue. Rome. P. Servillius Macer, moneyer. CAESAR before, [DI]CT PERPETVO behind, wreathed and veiled head of Julius Caesar right. Reverse: [P] SEPVLLIVS MACER, Venus standing left, holding Victory and scepter set on eight-pointed star. Crawford 480/14; HCRI 107e; Sydenham 1074a; RSC 39/40. Excellent veiled head portrait. Uneven strike on both sides not affecting portrait. Choice Very Fine.
