1800/79 S-194 R3 Overdate 80 over 79, Style II Hair VF20. Ten points sharper but cleaned and recolored glossy chocolate brown and steel. The planchet is smooth and free of notable contact marks, but there are a couple small planchet laminations on the rim at ST in STATES and a more-obvious one at F-A, both as struck. Extremely rare VLDS, Breen state VIII, with a series of cud breaks along the bottom of the reverse. The left end of the cud under the fraction reaches to the dentils over the left top of the U, which is more advanced than Breen mentions for his latest state. The date is bold and the overdate is obvious to the unaided eye.
