1908-D. No Motto. PCGS graded MS-65 PQ. Lovely rich golden toning. Handsome greenish gold at the rims, more orange gold in the fields and to the center. Boldly struck and carefully preserved to retain the gem grade. Most of the 1908-D double eagles found show considerably more handling marks as the soft gold surfaces became abraded during the normal shipping and handling process. Here is one of the finer examples! Pop 265; 14 finer, 4 in 65+, 9 in 66, 1 in 66+ (PCGS # 9143) .
