Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 87

Lot 1097

1872-CC. PCGS graded AU-55. Untoned silver-gray with reflective fields that clearly saw only brief circulation. These Carson City Liberty Seated dollars are scarce and highly collectible. Their mintages were tiny at only 3,150. Of course most of the known coins from these dies are in much lower grades when they survived at all, and these have huge collecting pressure when high grade pieces like this are offered. Desirable as one of the rarities of this series and downright impressive quality.Pop 13; 25 finer (PCGS # 6969) .
Estimated Value $14,000 - 15,000.
