1870-CC. PCGS graded AU-58. Fully white with reflective fields with only scattered light moarks when closely examined. This is the first year of issue for the Carson City Mint and these silver dollars were the first coins they struck.These of course were symbolic of the Comstock Load of silver coming out of several of the silver mines nearby and silver dollars were the primary source of pride locally. These were struck in limited quantities, in fact only 12,462 minted and this is one of the finest seen.All are scarce and higher grade pieces like this are the most sought after and desired.A prize for the specialist!Pop 16; 16 finer (PCGS # 6964) .
