Mae West - Rare, Signed, Three Color Carbro Oversized Portrait by Acclaimed Photographer James N. Doolittle. Mae West - Legendary stage and screen performer pushing the boundaries of sexual agency, women's and civil rights all the while generating legions of fans, saving Paramount Studios from financial ruin and becoming a Hollywood icon. West was featured in only 16 films, but so many of those films are quoted regularly to this day complete with mimicking her delivery. An utterly unique Hollywood star. Offered here is an oversized, full bleed, 12" x 16" three color carbro print clearly from the mid-1930's, not laid to matte, inscribed and signed by West in lower right corner with photographer James N. Doolittle's label on inside of presentation matte. Doolittle's remarkable color work has been featured in numerous gallery and museum exhibitions and recognized as one of the fore runners of color photography in the fields of commercial portraiture, advertising and journalism. Image is in excellent condition, signature nice but rendered in a fine point fountain pen so does not necessarily pop but certainly West's lovely baroque signature clearly evident.
Estimated Value $1,200 - 2,000.
