Miró, Joan (1893-1983) Catalan Surrealist painter and sculptor. Autograph letter signed ("Miró"), 1 page, in French, 9¼ x 5¾", New York City, April 9, 1947. "My dear friend, You must forgive my silence on the subject of the illustrations for your poems, which I very much want to do. I had counted on already being in Paris a long time ago, but not knowing exactly when I will be able to go there, I am writing by this same mail to Mr. Bertelé, with whom I beg you to get in touch, to see if there would be any work he could give to you now…." Matted with an image of Miró and framed to an overall size of 15 x 17".
