Spanish American War - Vintage Commemorative Silk. A fine hand-sewn silk with "The Maine Well Remembered" flanking the portrait of William McKinley with draped U.S. flags surrounding the portraits of Admiral George Dewey and Jose Marti with "Manila Captured August 13th, 1898" below. Elegantly matted and framed; archivally protected to an overall size of 25½ x 25½ in. Superb condition and very rare

Together with: Small brass bell (height 4 in.) inscribed on top - "Remember the Main designed for the World's Fair St. Louis, MO 1904". On the verso inscribed - "The brass in this bell was recovered from the Maine destroyed in Havana Harbor Feb. 15, 1898".

Two items of historic importance.
