Rare Regular Army Recruiting Broadside. Rare, 29 x 22 in., red and blue print, Ringwalt & Brown, Steam-Power Prs., 111 & 113 South 4th St., 1863 recruiting poster. Archivally mounted on acid-free soft board. Torn left top corner, affecting the "R" in "Regular". Age wear and toning. Light water staining along the right vertical border. Horizontal and vertical folds. The poster was issued due to General orders, no. 190, War Department, Adjutant General's Office, Washington, June 25, 1863, for recruiting the regular army. Ordering that all men enlisting in the regular army for five years' service within 90 days from this date, shall receive premium, advance pay and bounty, of $402. Poster reads in part: "Regular Army! $402 Bounty! Men Wanted for the 11th U.S. Infantry!…. For further information apply at the rendezvous, No. 720 Chestnut St., Second Floor. Joshua S. Fletcher, Jr., Capt. 11th Infantry, Recruiting Officer." Overall in good condition.
