Guevaro, Ernesto "Che" (1928 -1967) Argentine-born revolutionary who played a prominent role in the Cuban Revolution (1956-59). Trained as a physician, he was a theoretician and tactician of guerrilla warfare, and a guerrilla leader in South America. After his execution by the Bolivian army, he was regarded as a martyred hero by generations of leftists, and his image became an icon of leftist radicalism and anti-imperialism.

Document signed ("Che"), as Minister of Industries, 1 page, 19½ x 14¼ in., 1963. Uneven browning to paper, with numerous specks. A diploma of merit to Santiago Padrón Pérez, who was selected as the best director of consolidated businesses and institutes of the ministry, for work done in the leather derivative business in 1963. Signed in tiny letters, in green ink, just above the printed "Che." Brown seal of the Ministry of Industries, with red and blue ribbons at lower right. Accompanied by an 11¾ x 15½ in. original, vintage photograph of Mr. Pérez receiving the diploma from Che. Photo is not in good condition, having numerous tears and creases, primarily around the edges, but the image is quite clear. Rare.
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500.
