Etruscan. Bronze Mirror with Modern Bone Handle, 540-200 BC. This exquisite mirror has been etched on one side with a winged figure, wearing military attire, striding left; holding, a very large shield and a club. The other side has no pattern on it because this was the side that would have been polished and reflective. There are two minor holes in mirror and some restoration on the back. Modern handle attached. Mounted on custom stand in a mirror backed case, which beautifully presents both sides of the mirror from the front. Measures: 32.5 cm; Diameter: 16.5 cm.
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500.
Maple Drive Collection, 1983 - 1989.

Realized $600
