Lot 1294

Teimur Amiry. Night Cap. A still life of a half full cut crystal decanter and cognac snifter alongside an ash tray, all sitting upon a partially-draped French Provincial tabletop. Sitting in the ash tray is a lit and smoking cigar. Hand-painted highlights by the artist over a giclée print in a simple but elegant wood and gilt frame with a 2½" linen mat. Painting measures 27" x 20¾". Frame is 38" x 31".

Teimur Amiry is recognized throughout the world, especially in the U.S., Italy, France, Germany, and England for his modern Renaissance paintings. As a young man, Mr. Amiry travelled throughout Europe, spending most of his time in Italy where his work was lauded by the Italian media as the "Reinvention of the genius of Leonardi Di Vinci." He owned three galleries in Beverly Hills over a forty year period (Beverly-Wilshire Hotel, Rodeo Drive, and Beverly Drive). His many high-profile clients include Sophia Loren, Ringo Starr, Kirk Douglas, and Tony Bennett. Examples of his work were left in the estates of Howard Hughes, Frank Sinatra, Fred Astaire, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. Amiry's three dimensional images against dark velvety backgrounds are so real that they practically jump off the canvas. His trademark is a faint image of himself hidden somewhwere in his paintings.
Estimated Value $6,000 - 8,000.
