Francis Sydney Muschamp (1851-1929) a popular British painter of figures, dramatic scenes and landscapes comes this absolutely beautiful interpretation of a scene from William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. Original oil on canvas, painting is signed and dated 1885 as Sydney Muschamp in lower right corner, in excellent condition, and measures 23" x 35" handsomely framed to 30" x 43" with brass plate identifying title and artist.
