Antoine Blanchard (1910-1988) proved an imaginative artist, a refined colourist, in love with light, and possessed a remarkable skill for recreating the atmosphere of a street scene especially the light of street lamps and windows, the movement of crowds in their fine apparel, even the laborious efforts of horses pulling coaches. All of these elements and more are clearly evident in this exceptional piece entitled Port Saint Denis, a Parisan Monument located in the 10th arrondissemente.
