1980s Shuttle mission control-console back-lit displays. Group of 14 back-lit displays used on the Flight Dynamics Officer's console. Two of these say STS-1 on the slide. They were also used for later missions. The lights monitored key events on-board the spacecraft and monitored computer processing activity by the Mission Operation Computer (MOC) for other events or possible contingencies. Examples of such events include Space Shuttle Main Engine status for out events that could determine Abort Mode availability, Abort modes & executions of these such as Return-to-Launch Site (RTLS) and other processes. Includes Flight Dynamics Officer COA and interesting back-up material on displays specific uses.
