Calabria, Tarentum/Taras. Silver Didrachm (7.7 g), ca. 344-334 BC. Nude youth on horseback galloping right, holding two spears; below, KAΛ / (Δ?). Reverse: TAPAΣ behind, Taras seated on dolphin right, flanked by stars and holding Phygian helmet; below API. SNG Copenhagen 828; Vlasto 544-5; HN Italy 896. Wonderful style with an elegant reverse. Lightly toned. Extremely Fine.
