Lot 210

1801 NC-4 R7- NGC graded VG Details, Environmental Damage. Sharpness G6 or slightly better but covered with fine to moderate corrosion. No verdigris and the only mark is a light rim bruise at the E in UNITED. Slightly glossy dark steel and olive brown. The date and legends are complete and easily readable, although a couple letters on the reverse are weak. An acceptable example of this extremely rare variety that combines the reverse of S-222 with a new obverse die. Only 11 examples of the variety are known to us and the finest of those grades only VG8. The attribution is noted on the NGC label.
Estimated Value $500-UP.
