Lot 1108

1838-O. No Stars. NGC graded MS-63. Lightly toned. An elegant example of this short-lived type coin that has the cameo of Liberty seated on the obverse with the date below. No stars clutter the fields and the eye stays focused on the fine nuances of her drapery and regal nature. Clean surfaces and fields, which retain the choice grade level with ease. Scarce and always in high collector demand for this early Liberty Seated half dime from New Orleans. Merely 200 examples estimated to have survived. Pop 3; 5 finer, 4 in 64, 1 in 65.
Estimated Value $6,500 - 7,000.

Realized $8,519
