Lot 905

1857 N-1 R1 Large Date AU50+. Attractive glossy light chocolate brown with frosty luster showing in protected areas on the reverse. The only marks are a tiny spot of darker chocolate toning on the rim under the 7 in the date and a very light diagonal scratch on the throat. Sharply struck EDS, die state a. The top of a badly misplaced 1 shows clearly in the dentils below the 8 and the fine die lines from the dentils over UNI are sharp. Very nice for the grade, close to AU55. Removed from an ANACS slab graded AU58 (ANACS label #2991371 enclosed).
Estimated Value $250-UP.
Ex Rod Burress 10/11/2007.
