Lot 852

1853 N-30 R2. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown. Lustrous bluish steel and olive with 10-15% of the mint red remaining. Satiny mint frost covers the planchet and this cent offers excellent eye appeal. The only defects are a shallow low spot on the neck under the earlobe (caused by debris on the die) and a tiny arch-shaped struck-through line under the base of the 1 (also as struck). EDS, die state a. The fine die lines from the dentils at star 13 are clear. A very nice cent with lots of original mint color for a "BN" designation. Our grade is MS63, tied for CC#4 in the Grellman census. The attribution is shown on the PCGS label (PCGS # 406050) .
Estimated Value $500-UP.
Ex Doug Durasoff.
