1852 N-12 R1 Repunched 18. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown. Lustrous steel brown with subtle overtones of light bluish steel. Traces of faded mint color can be found in protected areas on the reverse. Choice except for a splash of carbon on the curl over the 2, a smaller spot of carbon on the cheek, and a half dozen specks of carbon inside the wreath. LDS, die state c (Newcomb's old #13). The repunching at the 18 is gone and a die crack extends from the tip of the bust through star 1 to the dentils at star 2. Our grade is net MS60. The attribution and Goodridge provenance are shown on the PCGS label (PCGS # 147260) .
