Lot 754

1850 N-5 R4. NGC graded MS-60 Brown. Glossy medium chocolate brown with mint frost showing in the protected areas. Looks choice to the unaided eye but a glass reveals about a dozen microscopic specks of carbon that are just starting to form on both sides. The largest of these is on the left side of the 8 and on the left top of the second T in STATES. These specks appear to be superficial at this point but timely treatment with a protective product (Care, Blue Ribbon, etc.) is recommended to "nip this in the bud." Rare EDS, die state a. Both segments of the vertical line down from the inner hair bun are clear and the lines from the main curl are sharp. Our grade is EF45+, close to AU50.
Estimated Value $250-UP.
