1847 N-41 R4. PCGS graded AU-55. Frosty medium brown with darker steel brown toning on the highpoints. The only mark is a rather large spot of darker olive brown toning high on the neck. Otherwise the only notable mark is a dull diagonal nick between stars 8 & 9. E-MDS, die state a late. The die line from the dentils to the right top of the E in AMERICA is sharp but the one connecting the bases of the U & N in UNITED is faint. Our grade is AU50 sharpness net EF45 for the spot. Tied for CC#8 in the Grellman census (PCGS # 1877) .
