1847 N-21 R1 MS60. The obverse is lustrous very faded red blending to bluish steel and light olive; the reverse is highly lustrous bluish steel with faded mint red in protected areas. The only notable mark is a spot of very fine carbon in the dentils at star 13. M-LDS, die state b (Newcomb's old #40) with a die crack through the tops of ME passing to the rim over the adjacent A and RI.
